Faced with infinite possibilities, a profoundly indecisive young woman struggles to buy a new couch.

England, during World War II. A girl from a very religious background comes to work as a kitchen maid in a girls' school. She meets another maid comes from London, who is much more sophisticated.

Their many acts-both lascivious and mundane-are documented in a film that has come to be regarded as one of the most notorious of Warhol's early works.
